Halifax County, NC land and farms are smart investments for those wishing to relocate a business, needing land to develop or for homebuyers and sportsmen. Weldon is known as “The Rockfish Capital of the World.” Halifax County, NC ranks No. 1 in the state for both deer and turkey harvests. Included in the top private employers are Resers Fine Foods, Inc. and Kapstone Kraft Corp. Other attractions include the Sylvan Bird Park, home to the world’s largest collection of waterfowl from around the world, and the Lakeland Theater Company. Halifax County Schools and Roanoke Rapids City Schools provide K-12 public education. Halifax Community College offers higher education.
