Great opportunity for 2 all wooded tracts that both have frontage on a 12 acre pond. Located in the quiet of the Greensville County countryside, this 74 acre parcel can make a great custom home site, or 2, or good for a family compound too. Lots of room to spread out. Soil maps indicate locations that are good for conventional septic. The hunting is good in this area and the deer sign is plentiful. The pine timber is only 6 years old so it has good investment potential in the years to come. This aged timber makes it a good time to create trails and food plots. Only 15 minutes form Emporia where there are restaurants, banking, gas, and shopping. A little more than an hour to the Richmond, Hampton Roads, or Raleigh areas.
Greensville County was established in 1781 from Brunswick County. The county is probably named for Sir Richard Grenville, leader of the settlement on Roanoke Island, 1585. There is also belief that it may be named after Nathanael Greene, a major general of the Continental Army and one of George Washington's brightest officers.
Lake Gaston is a hydroelectric reservoir in the eastern United States. Part of the lake is in the North Carolina counties of Halifax, Northampton, and Warren. The part extending into Virginia lies in Brunswick and Mecklenburg counties. Lake Gaston is roughly 35 miles long and covers over 20,000 acres, with 350 miles of shoreline.
