Great opportunity for a recreational/investment tract in the countryside of Accomack County on Virginia's Eastern Shore! This tract includes 14 acres of productive cropland with the balance being in towering timber made up of pines and hardwoods. This tract has the right combination of diversity and edges that wildlife loves; and it looks like it. There is sign of deer and turkeys throughout the property and this is Big Buck Country! Check the pictures out; they were taken since hunting season with the hunting blind in the background. This farm can make a great weekend getaway for hunting, camping, shooting, and just enjoying the peace and quiet that can be found in the country. It is just a little more than an hour from Hampton Roads and just minutes to the town of Wachapreague. Don't forget, the fishing is good all year on the Eastern Shore.

The Eastern Shore of Virginia was known as "Accomac Shire", until it was renamed Northampton County in 1642. The present Accomac County was created from Northampton County in 1663. Members of an English voyage of exploration landed in the area in 1603, four years before the founding of the Jamestown Colony. Captain John Smith visited the region in 1608. The county and the original shire were named for the Accawmack Indians, who resided in the area when the English first explored it in 1603. The Accawmack nation at the time numbered around 2000, and were governed by Debedeavon, a paramount chief called by the English the "Laughing King". He became a staunch ally of the English newcomers, granting them several large areas for their own use. Accomac Shire was established in 1634 as one of the eight original shires of Virginia. The name comes from the native word Accawmack, which meant "on the other side".
