Farms and land in Orange County are in one of the most diverse counties in the state, making it a paradise for investors, business owners and homebuyers. Located in the Piedmont, adjacent counties are Person, Durham, Chatham, Alamance and Caswell. Orange County land includes 401 square miles of rolling hills and is home to 148,000 residents. Education, healthcare, farming and manufacturing form the economic foundation of the area that is part of the Research Triangle. The county is home to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, flagship of the state’s university system and the oldest state-supported university in the nation. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the Eno River, Couch Mountain, Lake Michael and Turkey Hill Creek where they can fish, canoe and enjoy other water sports. Other attractions include Morehead Planetarium, Carolina Basketball Museum and the Jewish Heritage Foundation. Orange County Schools provides public education for K-12, and University of North Carolina offers higher learning.
