Jalena Borders

Jalena didn't grow up in this lifestyle, but she sure got here as soon as she could. Before adopting three of her four children, Jalena spent 10 years in law enforcement. Jalena and her family then moved all the way across the country from Arizona to South Carolina to pursue their dream of homesteading and owning land out in the country while still being close to the beach. They were attracted by South Carolina's engaged and supportive homesteading community and the state's better USDA Plant Hardiness Zone. With her husband of 16 years and their children, they made the journey with their emu, dogs, and a laughing rooster in the backseat of the truck. Now, they grow and raise most of their own food, and Jalena has developed a deep passion for helping other homesteaders find their perfect property to begin their journey. As a licensed real estate agent with Mossy Oak Properties Land and Farms Realty, Jalena specializes in various types of rural and recreational properties.

In 2024, Jalena graduated from Clemson's New and Beginning Farmer Program, equipping her with valuable knowledge and skills that greatly benefit her real estate clients. This program has given her a unique understanding of the needs and challenges faced by new farmers and homesteaders, allowing her to provide expert guidance in finding the ideal property. Additionally, Jalena has extensive experience with real estate investments, which enables her to assist clients in making informed decisions that maximize their investment potential. When she's not farming, Jalena loves to bowhunt, hike, fish, and spend time at the beautiful South Carolina beaches. Her passion for the outdoors, the beauty of God's country, and wildlife drives her to help others find their perfect piece of countryside paradise.
